Typography Posters

This trio of typography posters celebrates three iconic sans-serif typefaces, showcasing how layout and color can emphasize historical design. Each panel acts as a visual biography, blending oversized letterforms with detailed histories that honor the designers who shaped modern typography.

The first poster, bathed in a deep cobalt blue, spotlights Gill Sans, designed by Eric Gill in 1928. A massive, sweeping lowercase "g" dominates the canvas, its curves creating a natural frame for the family’s extensive font weights—ranging from light italic to ultra-bold. In the center, a vibrant orange panel showcases Futura, the geometric masterpiece created by Paul Renner in 1927.

The text dynamically twists and conforms to the sharp, precise angles of the giant wordmark, perfectly mirroring the forward-thinking German Bauhaus philosophy that inspired it. Finally, the stark black panel on the right features Franklin Gothic, engineered by Morris Fuller Benton in 1902. Massive, bright yellow letters "F" and "G" anchor the composition, surrounded by tightly packed columns of text that reflect the typeface's enduring strength in print journalism. It is a striking visual tribute to the structural beauty of everyday communication.
